*ESMA has temporarily prohibited the marketing, distribution or sale of binary options to retail clients. Binary options are inherently risky and complex products and are often traded speculatively.

The categorization is designed to ensure that the client is provided with the level of information, services and protection that is appropriate to and consistent with the client’s categorisation. Find more information about Client Categorization here.

Main requirements for Professional Clients

In order to qualify for the Professional Client status, one must meet at least 2 of the 3 criteria listed above. If you do fit the criteria, feel free to apply for recategorization.

Trading Volume

The client has carried out transactions of significant size (over 150 EUR), on the relevant market (FOREX/CFD or Options/Binary options) at an average frequency of 10 per quarter over the previous 4 quarters.

Sizable Portfolio

The size of the client’s financial instrument portfolio, defined as including cash deposits and financial instruments exceeds 500,000 EUR

Relevant Experience

The client works or has worked in the financial sector for at least one year in a professional position, which requires knowledge of the transactions or services envisaged.

Please note:

Elective Professional Clients will be afforded the same level of protection as Retail Clients, with one notable exception: their funds will not be covered under the Investor Compensation Fund. Professional Clients have the right to change their status back to Retail at any time.

Please note that for now we accept re-categorisation forms from clients who want to be treated as a Professional generally (for all products). If you wish to be treated as a Professional client only for specific instruments please contact compliance@krypto-trade.com
